From an out of shape and overweight teenager to a source of inspiration to his friends on their fitness journeys, Nainesh describes how an refusal to be complacent fuelled his Zidd.

In his co-ed school, Nainesh remembers having an extremely tough time. Weight issues and a deteriorating sense of self-esteem made him the subject of cruel bullying from his peers. Weighing 108 kgs in 10th standard, Nainesh decided to work hard at losing some weight, but a massive weakness towards eating unhealthy, calorie-heavy foods made it difficult for him to maintain any gains he made. He went from 108kgs to 80 to 127 to mid-80s and all the way back up to a staggering 136 kgs!

"I still remember those days. I had become an example of what not to become and this haunted me the most. I would never want to go back to being overweight and this is what gets me out of the bed every morning."

After deciding that his only goal in life was to be fit, lean and maintain a healthy body weight, Nainesh embarked on a disciplined diet and workout regimen that he has manged to stick with till date. Initially, he started bodybuilding with rigorous workouts supplemented by tasteless meals. This didn't go to plan. "A piece of advice, when you decide to eat well, make sure it's tasty too. Tasteless and boring meals push you towards consuming more cheat meals which outweigh your efforts of keeping fit."

Focus on your strengths

"My transformation is unbelievable, even to myself at times. My strongest asset is that I work out every day and give no excuses to miss any work out. No matter what, I make sure to put on my shoes and hit the gym. All these years, the thought of leaving the gym early has never occurred to me."

"It feels good to be fit, it feels good to stay fit. I'm now a source of inspiration for my friends who have followed my weight loss journey from 136 kgs to 70 kgs."

"My Zidd is there for all to see. I don't mindlessly indulge myself. My diet and workout routines are extremely disciplined."

So, what advice does Nainesh Ziddi Chainani have for you?

"There is a feel-good factor to exercising and this factor motivates me to keep going. I am loving what I have become, and I do not appreciate the guy I was back then. My Zidd is to always feel this way."
